you know, the middle class is not a number. it's a value set. it means being able to own your home; raise your children in a safe neighborhood; send them to a good school where if they do well they can qualify to go to college and if they get accepted you'd be able to find a way to be able to send them to college. and in the meantime, if your parents need help, being able to take care of them, and hope to put aside enough money so that your children will not have to take care of you.
that's the american dream. that's what this country was built on. and that's what we'redetermined8 to restore.
in order to do that, it's time to have a fair tax structure, one that values paychecks as much as unearned income and inherited wealth, to take some of the burden off of the middle class. it's time to close tax loopholes so we can reduce the deficit9, and invest in rebuilding america - our bridges, our ports, our highways, rails, providing good jobs.
with corporate10 profits at near record highs, we should encourage corporations to invest more in research and development and the salaries of their employees. it's time for us to invest in educational opportunity to guarantee that we have the most highly skilledworkforce11 in the world, for 6 out of every 10 jobs in the near term is going to require some education beyond high school. folks, it's long past due to increase the minimum wage that will lift millions of hardworking families out of poverty target poverty and in the process produce a ripple12 effect that boosts wages for the middle class and spurs economic growth for the united states of america. economists13 acknowledge that if we do these and other things, wages will go up and we'll increase the gross domestic product of the united states.

Then the deer began to eat the green leaves of the young trees .so the farmers thought of ways to protect their trees, then the deer had nothing to eat and many of them died.
The number of trees, deer, tigers, wild flowers and plants has changed much—less and less. We need to do more to keep the balance of nature.

A Brother Like That A Brother Like That A friend of mine named Paul received an automobile from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. "Is this your car, Mister?"
he said. Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas."
The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing? Boy, I wish . . ."
He hesitated. Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels. "I wish,"
the boy went on, "That I could be a brother like that."
Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my car?"
"Oh yes, Id love that."
After a short ride, the boy turned with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house?"
Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?"
the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sathim down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. "There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn’t cost him a cent. And some day Im gonna give you one just like it . . . then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that Ive been trying to tell you about."
Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride. That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jesus meant when he said: "It is more blessed to give . . . "

The first day of school our professor introduced a little old lady tous.

As we laughed she cleared her throatand began:" We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because westop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, andachieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got tohave a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walkingaround who are dead and don't even know it! There is a huge difference betweengrowing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed forone full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old.Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talentor ability. The idea is togrow up by always finding the opportunity in change. Have no regrets. Theelderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we didnot do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."
At the year's end Rose finished the college degree. One week aftergraduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. Over two thousand college studentsattended her funeral to honorthe wonderful woman who taught by example that it'snever too late to be all you can possibly be.

To be a polite middle school student, I think we have to do a lot of things. First,it’s important for us to speak politely. We must respect the others. When I meet someone I know , I often greet him by saying hello to him happily. We are supposed to be kind to others, warm-hearted to everyone, and generous to our friends. Second, we can’t throw rubbish everywhere. We must throw them in the rubbish bins. Littering is not a good habit. Every time I go to the park, I always pick up the litter and put it into the bin. I think if we all do so, the world will be cleaner. Another important thing is that we must follow the rules. There is no doubt that waiting in line is the important rule. I never rush into the bus. I don't think so. printed books won't be abandoned in such a short time. I admit that new technology is developing fast.
Many advanced electronic products are gradually take the place of traditional tools. Just like in university, teachers like to use multimedia in class for it is quite convenient and efficient. However, for our student, it is not realistic to study completely by electronic products.
There are many things need to recorded on books. Books are something meaningful and practical. I should say, in our country, printed books wouldn't be abandoned within 20 years at least for two reasons.
Firstly, books are classical container of knowledge. They accompany human to advance. A student without books could be someway ridiculous.
Secondly, our country haven't developed so strong to make every student study by computer or other forms of electronic tools. And even after 20 years, the possibility is also very small.
I also think it is unnecessary because books are cheap but useful and still meaningful.

Helping every american with autism achieve their full potential is one of this administration’s top priorities. at the u.s. department of health and human services, we continue to strive to meet the complex needs of all people with autism spectrum disorders (asd) and their families. while there is no cure, early intervention is critical and can greatly improve a child’s development.
Perhaps the biggest step we’ve taken to support those affected by autism and their families happened over a year ago, with the signing of the affordable care act. now, new insurance plans are required to cover autism screening and developmental assessments for children at no cost to parents. insurers will also no longer be allowed to deny children coverage for a pre-existing condition such as asd or to set arbitrary lifetime or annual limits on benefits.
Also, thanks to the new law, young adults are allowed to stay on their family health insurance until they turn 26. for a young adult with autism spectrum disorder and their family, that means peace of mind. it means more flexibility, more options, and more opportunity to reach their full potential.

i’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! to begin with ,i want to ask a question .does everybody dream a good dream last night? actually ,today i want to talk about dream with you. of course, what i want to talk is not a dream you have last night,but a dream—— about life.

Ladies and Gentlemen: My topic is Honesty. As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story. /chuzhong/chusan/ 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure. In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome. When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error. Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. nothing is more valuable than health. it is the foundation of one’s future success. generally speaking, a Healthy person can always be energetic and enjoy his life and achieve what he hopes for in his career. on the contrary, poor in health, a person can not achieve much though he is well-educated. then, what should we do to maintain and enhance our health and do you know to keep Healthy? let’s start in three aspects------keep a balanced diet, give up bad habits and take regular exercise.
firstly, keep a balanced diet. scientific research sHows us How a balanced diet is made up-----a pyramid. the lowest floor sHows us the main food we need at least 300g everyday. like, bread, rice, noodle etc. the second floor contains vegetables and fruits which are full of vitamin c and vitamin e and other nutrition good for our health. we should eat it more than 400g in our diet. the third floor has meat, fish and egg that we often eat in our daily meal. but we should be cautious about these foods and eat less than 100g. the fourth floor which is soy-based food and dairy products which is easy to get us fat for its high caloric. 70 g is enough. the top floor sHows oil and salty products we should eat only 30g or 50g at most. if each meal we eat following this balanced diet, eating Healthy, i believe we can be Healthy and keep a nice figure.
secondly, give up bad habits. as we know, drinking too much is harm to our stomach; smoking is bad to our lung. it also reported that every year more than 110 thousand people was poisoned then killed by alcohol in china and more than 3.5 million people in the world are killed by diseases because of smoking. so we should drink less and stop smoking. as a teenager, we often Stay up to prepare our next day examination or play puter games that not only cost our time but also kill ourselves. we should give up these bad habits and make a balanced schedule to keep a good state.
finally, take regular physical exercise which is essential for a relaxed mind and body. taking frequent exercise, can improve and balance the function of your heart and lung, prevent osteoporosis, burn the flab, enhance metabolism and strengthen
immunity, relieve pressure of study or work. for example, yoga can improve your rate of breath by calming down your mind and body, and get rid of distractions and tenacity to concentrate on certain item. what’s more, it help you keep a perfect figure by strengthen your arm and get every joints of your body active and relax your body. now, this kind aerobic activity is popular which include swimming, riding, jogging and yoga etc. so, let’s join sports to keep fit.
in conclusion, if everyone can stick to what is mentioned above, keep a balanced diet, give up your bad habits and take regular exercise, then you will be perfect and Healthy.
Never shall i forget the first english lesson given by miss liu. on thatday， when she entered the classroom， we found that she was a young and beautifullady with a big smile on her face. then she introduced herself saying that weshould call her miss liu instead of teacher liu， a moment later， she let all ofus go to the blackboard and say something about ourselves in english in turn.when it was my turn， i felt so shy and fearful that i didn’t dare to say a wordbefore the class. she came up to me and said kindly， “don’t be afraid. i believeyou can do it. come and have a try.” my face turned red when i heard that. atlast， i went to the blackboard and was able to do it quite well. she praised forwhat i had done. up to now， i can still remember her words in the first englishlesson： “practice makes perfect. don’t lose your courage when you meet withdifficulties. try on and on until you succeed.”
keep your direction
what would you do if you failed? many people may choose to give up. however, the surest way to success is to keep your direction and stick to your goal.
on your way to success, you must keep your direction. it is just like a lamp, guiding you in darkness and helping you overcome obstacles on your way. otherwise, you will easily get lost or hesitate to go ahead.
direction means objectives. you can get nowhere without an objective in life.
you can try to write your objective on paper and make some plans to achieve it. in this way, you will know how to arrange your time and to spend your time properly. and you should also have a belief that you are sure to succeed as long as you keep your direction all the time.
