Before giving a speech,I want to ask everyone some questions.
1.How many of you can remember the birthday of your parents?
2.How many people can remember the birthday of the idols you love?
Today, many students can remember their own birthdays, their friends’birthdays, even their idols’ birthdays. However, both of them forget their parents’birthdays.Everyone's life is a continuation of the parents of one blood, all ofthe parents gave us love, let us enjoy the human world of affection andhappiness, therefore, we would like to thank the parents.Parents’ love is themost unconditional and thus the greatest love in the world. Our parents have donemuch for us since we were born,They give us lots of love and care, but we do notcare for them enough.
Last week our music teacher taught us a song, named Indebted Heart. Throughit I know that we should live with a thankful heart. At that time, I think of myparents. I think they are the first people I should thank. It’s them who give melife. It’s them who give me home. It’s them who bring me up. It’s them who lookafter me. It’s them who teach me knowledge and live happily. I should thank myparents giving me so much. Maybe I should think how to pay back the love myparents give me. But now I think the best way to be appreciated of my parents isto study well and then being a useful person to the society when I grow up.
Gratitude is the feeling of being grateful, the art of receivinggracefully, and the act of showing appreciation for every act of kindness, bigor small, that others do for us.Gratitude can take many forms. It can beexpressed by a large, dramatic gesture or it can be shown in a small way, likefinding a very original and personal way to say thanks for a friend’s gift.Whatever we do to show our gratitude, we should do it in a sincere manner, forit is the feelings in our hearts that matters the most. The story reminds us howimportant it is to express our gratitude to the ones who have offered us help.We can never be too grateful. The smiles and the thanks we give help us to builda better world, one that we can all live in and enjoy.
I am grateful, God gave me my kind parents, so I can grow in theirlove.
About ten years ago when I was an undergraduate in college, I was workingas an intern at my University's Museum of Natural History. One day while workingat the cash register in the gift shop, I saw an elderly couple come in with alittle girl in a wheelchair.
As I looked closer at this girl, I saw that she was kind of perched on herchair. I then realized she had no arms or legs, just a head, neck and torso. Shewas wearing a little white dress with red polka dots.
As the couple wheeled her up to me I was looking down at the register. Iturned my head toward the girl and gave her a wink. As I took the money from hergrandparents, I looked back at the girl, who was giving me the cutest, largestsmile I have ever seen. All of a sudden her handicap was gone and all I saw wasthis beautiful girl, whose smile just melted me and almost instantly gave me acompletely new sense of what life is all about. She took me from a poor, unhappycollege student and brought me into her world; a world of smiles, love andwarmth.
That was ten years ago. I'm a successful business person now and whenever Iget down and think about the troubles of the world, I think about that littlegirl and the remarkable lesson about life that she taught me.
We often hear people say, “Never give up.” These can be encouraging wordsand words of determination. A person who believes in them will keep trying toreach his goal no matter how many times he fails. Benjamin Franklin oncesaid,”Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance.”From theremark,we can infer that,of all the advantageous characteristics, perseveranceplays a crucial role in one’s success.
Remember that year, I bought a bike, but I can't ride a bike! Mom seems tounderstand my thoughts, gently to me: "tomorrow I'll show you to your square, teach you to ride a bicycle." "Good!" I'm happy to reply.
The next morning, my mother and I went to the square. Mother let me pushthis bike, and look for the feeling, I have to not boring to walk cycles.Fifteen minutes passed, and my feet really acid! I want to back down. Well, learn the bike how so difficult, it is better not learn! At this time, my mothersaid to me ": well, quite good!" Listened to mother's words, my heart is lightsuddenly full of confidence. Mother then began to lecture, "learning bicycle, the most important thing is to keep the car balance, otherwise the car like a nohead of flies, left, right. Didn't walk a few steps, I already fell off. Myknees hurt, out of the red blood, looking at this bright red blood, I can't helpbut shed a hot tears, his mouth still keeps saying: "I don't learn, I don'tlearn! After listening to his mother, to longly say to me: "do what matter aslong as perseverance, perseverance, perseverance will be successful. Like whatyou do is always fall by the wayside, how can success?" Listen to the mother'steachings I have the confidence again, two days before, I had learned to ride abicycle, but most importantly, I learned to insist on.Now I see them as mymotto, adhere to is victory let it remind me to do anything as long asperseverance, perseverance, perseverance will be successful.
Nothing can be more exciting than success to a man.But you must face manydifficulties before you can succeed. No one can make it easily. And it's harderfor those who are in adverse conditions to succeed. However, everything has twosides.Just as someone said, in every adversity there lies the seed of anadvantage and in every defeat there is a lesson showing you how to win thevictory next time. The most important focus is to establish a brief, that isperseverance. The British ex-prime minister Winston Churchill had a motto of"Never, never, never, never give up .Nothing can substitute for hard work. Lifeis a process of struggle for success.
