about a year and a half ago, i took part in my very first english speechcontest. when i stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly atme, i could hardly speak. i stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling invain for the right thing to say. my fears had paralyzed me.
while my passion for english has never changed, i lost my courage to speakin public. when my professor again encouraged me to take part in thiscompetition, i said “no.” i couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. helooked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. i willnever forget his words. “look,” he said, “we all have our fears, and you haveyours. you could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid toever play again. running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. awinner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”

this will help you sleep better. exercise can be fun. i jog on my treadmill while watching tv.
it’s so enjoyable i forget i’m working out.
good health is not free. nothing worthwhile is easy.
you have to work and sweat. sweat is good. pain is gain. no pain, no gain.
thirdly, listen to your bodies.
when you feel tired, take a rest. when you feel sleepy, go to bed.
move your bowels once a day. pee whenever you need to. never hold it in.
when i was a kid, my father taught me one important thing. always take care of you feet.
your feet are the most important part of your body. wash your feet every day.
change your socks every day. keep your feet clean dry.
a doctor told me a story about How to take care of our skin. an old lady lived in a castle and never went out into the sum.

Around us , there are plants, animals and many other things. We live in nature, so to keep the balance of nature is very important for us. But today, too many trees are still being cut down in many countries and flood all over the world are getting more and more serious, A lot of land has gone with them. This is a lesson from nature.
When people move into a new place, they often cut down trees or pull out many wild plants to make farmland. They don’t know that trees can stop flood and wind from washing or blowing the earth away, and that many of these wild plants are food for some wild animals. If the animals can’t find enough plants to eat, they will die or have to leave the place.
In one part of the United States, for example, the deer there like to eat a kind of wild flowers. The mountain tigers there eat the deer. But people killed many mountain tigers to protect the deer. soon there were so many deer that the ate up all the wild flowers. Then the deer began to eat the green leaves of the young trees .so the farmers thought of ways to protect their trees, then the deer had nothing to eat and many of them died.
The number of trees, deer, tigers, wild flowers and plants has changed much—less and less. We need to do more to keep the balance of nature.

As for learning English. Different students have different ideas. Some students may ask that we are Chinese, why should we learn a foreign language? Secondly, practice makes perfect. It is the best habit to practice English every day. Practice English anytime and anywhere. It’s a good way to improve your pronunciation by listening. Practice speaking English every day. You should catch every opportunity to speak English in class. For example, read in class, answering the teacher’s questions in class, making conversations with your classmates in class , Try your best to make good use of your class time. It's very easy to speak English well. Just open your mouth and blurt out. It’s the only good way to improve oral English. Don't be afraid of making mistakes, Don't be afraid of losing face . failure is the mother of success. sometimes people have to cope with many mistakes and failures in order to reach the successful finals. while others might succumb to failure, they tend to retreat and give in their efforts. success often provides confidence and satisfaction, nevertheless failure companies with bitter, saddness, and suffering. it seems people have to learn through each experience, as success doesn't always falls from heaven.
i remembered i used to fail on my vocabury test when i was in high school. i had problem to memorize new words which got lloose each day. i almost decided to give up english, but was obliged to one of my neighbour classmates who kept on sending small sheet for me. in the end of the semester, i found i had finished my vocabulary book which became a work force in reading english. i then realized that a new word came and left our brains for several times. nobody is born as genius for success. success tends to arrive after a serial of trials and failures.
of course, success brings confidence and victory. but, life is not always easy and comfortable. there are more difficulties than eases in the real life. it is likely that we have to face some failures ahead. therefore, those who learn how to deal and endure failures will taste their success eventually.

I feel so happy to have the chance to make a speech. The title of my speech is Protect the Environment, Protect Ourselves. I hope you will like it.
Everybody knows waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers and polluting the water. Our environment is the place in which we live, but it is being ruined by us.
There is a story about house and trees. It is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. Though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. How comfortable the life was! One day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. Then the autumn came without the protection. The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. People shouldn’t be short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task.
As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise pollution. But what can we do to solve the pollution? I think, firstly, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. We can ask companies to use modern clean technology. In some big cities, we can limit the number of cars. Secondly, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. We can tell factories that they are not allowed to pour waste water into the lakes and rivers. Thirdly, we should not throw rubbish in parks and cities. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. We can put more rubbish bins in our parks and cities. Fourthly, we can live far from the noise and make the laws to limit the noise.
The air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. So we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. To reach it, I want to put forward three points to everybody---Point 1： don’t spit and liter; Point 2： don’t draw on the wall; Point 3： clean the streets every day.
In order to make the environment clean, let’s join our hands together to make the world better.

I am very glad to stand here to give thier a short speech.Today my topic is that the youth are the future of motherland

When preparing for the English speech contest, I simply want to search some articles as the contents of my speech. I read a lot of articles, some from the university professor, some from the famous host, some from the college students, and even from junior high school students. But after reading it, I gave up the idea, I even felt shameful. Today,the topic I want to talk about is a solemn and serious theme full of glory and pride, which is a common aspiration of all our Chinese. Every Chinese has his own dream of China, and of course, there is a dream lingering in my heart only belongs to my own.

With great vision, college education has equipped me, first with a powerfulpropeller----the sophisticated knowledge in certain field and wide exposure toother disciplines. By dedicating myself to the engineering courses in the dayand immersing myself in the rich banquet of the world literature at night, I'veamassed the driving force for the future and enriched my soul.

我选择在网络声中被倒下就在网络声中爬起来，当你被骂得小有名气的时候我就暗自思量，反正也是挨骂，不如用最积极的方式迎接骂声。20__年3月3日，我在微博上面发出了一条名为"爱的骂骂"的微博，只要在我这条微博下面留言的，，不管是鼓励我的，骂我的，还是随便说说的，我都捐五毛，24个小时，有十万多条留言，捐款金额是50693.5元，作为北京一家残疾孤儿康复机构的手术费，在这里我要对每一位留言的人表示感谢。
在现实生活中顽强活着的残疾孤儿，其中有一个孩子在手术后的一年，终于有机会可以站起来了，当我看到她第一次站起，我很感动，也很骄傲，这个"黑姑娘"干了一件痛快的事。是的，我说出了金额，我知道一定会有人说，"捐那么少还好意思报数"我相信现在大部分人都不愿意公布捐款金额，因为捐款已经不再是一件随心的行为，而是成为大家根据金额的多少来衡量爱心的大小。
我相信在座的的各位，也一定有过朋友之间随份子，该给多少才合适的烦恼，我之所以说出来，不仅仅是因为，我觉得随心的行为需要躲闪，更因为"爱的骂骂"是每一个留言的镜子。当时骂过我的人，也许在两年后的今天听到我说这番话，会想起曾经不太善意的留言，却给了这些孩子们有机会获得新生，这同样值得高兴，其实我们每个人都有不同阶段的新生，不是吗?"爱的骂骂"发出那一刻，我如重生般释然了，虽然，我不像很多演员那样，拥有令人赞叹的表演才华，自己也觉得不是天生吃这碗饭的，但是既然选择了演员这份职业，我相信只要通过自己的努力和善待他人，就可以让自己的家人和自己过上幸福美满的生活，然而这一切，在20__年的夏天，被一句开创演艺界网络暴力先河的"滚出娱乐圈"所动摇，我是第一个被放在主语位置的人，袁姗姗，这个名字好像从此和"一无是处"划上了等号，那个时候不管说什么、做什么、演什么都不对。更有媒体总结了"袁姗姗不被观众所喜欢的五大理由"第一条理由是"没有理由"这是得有多深厚的感情基础，才能达到的境界。
20__年确实挺让人操心的，从春天到夏天，都没有平静过，一开始我也有些懊恼，不知道到底发生了什么，我既没有不劳而获，也没有做伤天害理的事，为什么让我"滚"?没多久，我想明白一个道理，谁都可以说我不好，但是自己必须接纳那个心安理得的自己，既然我的演艺生涯要从倒数开始，那我之后的每一点进步都是充满喜悦，从零分到六十分比从满分到六十分，哪个更让人开心呢?
也是从那个时候，我重拾扔下了多年的小提琴，还有健身，运动让我心情愉快，不工作的时候练琴和健身会让我的每一天都过得很充实，根本没有过多的时间停留在网上，更顾不上网友的围观。
我建议那些沉迷于网络的年轻人，每天可以挤出一点时间锻炼身体，当有朝一日被他人欺负的时候，至少可以像我一样，身轻如燕，自由翻滚，作为过去也许将来还会遭遇网络暴力的过来人，我不喜欢再有人因为网络暴力而受到伤害，请善用语言让人言可敬。
